moving swiftly on

Namaste,
Now I travel alone, though as I'm sure you're aware this actually means I'm in contact with more people than ever before. The blonde hair must be blonding as I'm definately attracting a little too many indian leeches! Lots of groups (men and women) staring with looks up and down without smiles or comment. It takes a bit of getting used to as I know they don't mean it in the ever so British way that I take it. With a bit of communication in word or action form it all becomes a good joke, just don't have the time to connect with everyone!

Left Mum in Kerala, she's now safely home in England. I popped to Bangalore for the day, a contradictory city of massive gardens and whopping pollution. There is no way I'd ever drive in an indian city. Even as a non-religious type I hear a short prayer slip out of my lips while crossing every road! I definately understand now why the Hindus have so many gods. They need them all.

Am now in Hampi and working my way east to Goa for a small relaxation period before the hardcore North of more pushy tourist hassle. You can't blame anyone for trying, poverty is everywhere. Hampi is full of temples and glowing skies and faces. Coloured saris blow in the hot breeze and massive boulders surround deitys of every kind. People offer coconuts and marigolds to holy Sadhus as they are blessed with powder. just witnessed a marriage in a huge ancient temple under the cool stone pillars. I was personally blessed by an elephant who touched my head with his trunk after accepting my one rupee in it! Indias ful of the weird and wonderful. everywhere.

all bare footed love

Jo
